Students may be nominated to be paired with a mentor by a teacher, parent, or even themselves. Mentors give approximately one hour a week to spend time with their mentee. All meetings take place at the school, during school hours. Occasionally, Butler County Teammates provides activities to meet with your mentor outside of school. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, please apply at teammates.org. Contact the school counselor if you would like to nominate a student or for more information.

In 2019, East Butler Schools adopted the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment, or more commonly referred to as the DESSA. A measure of behaviors related to resilience, social-emotional competence, and school success for children. All students in Kindergarten through 12th grade will have assessments completed. This will help me identify students that need additional instruction and training in specific social emotional learning (SEL). See the attached document for more information. |
